Finally the sofa has arrived!

Living room Before with rug from West Elm
We Finally have a living room! I worked on designing this sofa for TrueModern, and it is so great to see it in my living room. I ordered walnut legs to go with my original walnut TreeHouse Coffee table. Im not sure of the exact placement of the furniture in the living room, but I think this is a good start.

I would say the best thing about my living room is not having a TV. (The TV is in the guest room/ Jeremy's office/ work out room/ everything else room. I will get to it in a later blog post.) No direct focal point allows for so many more options for furniture placement. I positioned the sofa back to the kitchen, facing the window. This way, even though the kitchen sink is basically in the living room, (don't know whose design choice that was) you don't have to look at it while sitting on the sofa. I'm not sure I will keep it this way but I will live with it for a couple weeks and see how it feels.

Another thing that makes home feel like home is plants. When  we moved across the country we were unable to take any of our plants. At first this made me very sad, but luckily I found them a new home with my sister in law, who is clearly taking very good care of them. I went out and bought some more. I couldn't help picking out similar ones. I placed the plants on the round table in the turret, but I'm undecided as to whether or not this is a good use of the space.
